IP CLE – Free, in your iPod!

I always enjoy CLE, but, it is never fun. I have been listening to UCLA Law Professor Doug Lichtman’s Podcast called IPColloquium.com for almost a year. Sure, Professor Lichtman is insightful and creative – but you expect that from law professors. What makes the show fun is his enthusiasm. It’s not easy to get excited about Intellectual Property Podcasts — I’ve tried. Doug delivers.

If you are an attorney and you have an iPod, you should check it out. (If you don’t have an iPod, well, it is less expensive to buy an iPod than pay for CLE.) Really more than a podcast, it is a radio show. In Arizona, you can claim “self-directed” CLE credit. Other states have full blown CLE credit for this intellectual property program. Right now, here is what is available:

  • California CLE
  • Illinois CLE
  • New Hampshire CLE
  • New York CLE
  • Pennsylvania CLE
  • Tennessee CLE
  • Texas CLE
  • Washington CLE

If you have an iPod, just search the term “IP Colloquium” in the iTunes store and subscribe to the podcast. You can listen to free IP CLE in the car on your way to work automatically. There are codewords to record for each show to claim CLE credit — just text them to yourself while you are sitting at stoplight.

The Value of a Pending Patent: Chilling the Marketplace

While a patent is pending, the patent can remain secret.
